LLUIS GONZALEZ

TRUMPET

Born in Silla, Valencia in 1969, he study in the Conservatorio Superior de Musica de Valencia where he was awared first prize upon graduating, with the teacher Leopoldo Vidal. He continued his studies with the professors Pierre Thibaud and Bo Nilsson, and in 1994 received fourth prize and the silver medal at the Toulon International Competition in France. In 1989 he entered the Orquesta Sinfónica de Baleares "Ciutat de Palma" in Mallorca, where he remained until 1994. He is frecuently invited as professor at music courses and seminaries.

He has been tutor of the Yong Orchestra of the Community of Madrid, Spanish National Young Orchestra, Academy of Santiago de Compostela, Conservatorio Superior Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Conservatorio Superior de Bilbao, etc. He has worked extensively as solist with the organist Roberto Fresco, recording together the CD "Luz Barroca" which includes baroque and contemporary music. He has also recorded a CD dedicated to the Spanish Music for trumpet and piano XX century. He also recoded for the German channel ZDF with the trumpet ensemble "Ten of the Best", formed by Allan Vizzutti, Otto Sauter, Bo Nilsson, Pierre Thibaud, etc. As a soloist he has performed with most important orchestras in Spain. Several composers have dedicated pieces to him. He has been a soloist trumpet player for the Symphony Orchestra of Madrid from 1994 to 2005.

At present he is a trumpet teacher at the High School of Music "Musikene" of the Basque Country in San Sebastián and at the High Conservatory of Music of the Liceu of Barcelona. He combines both activities with his job as a soloist trumpet player.
